Awesome Steampunk Photo
I stumbled onto this amazing steampunk photo, taken by Jesse Nobles.
I love the steampunk outfits, and the odd camera angle. Very surreal and artistic, isn’t it?

Here’s a wonderfully made advertisement for thedarkpower’s Mechanical Steam Powered Power Plant and Geist Goggles. Awesome!
From his YouTube description, this was “just for fun, a small advert for some steampunk props I constructed.”
I’m so impressed! Not only are his props amazing, but he nailed the steampunk style in his video. Someone give this guy a job in Hollywood!

Take a look at this gorgeous steampunk costume, created by Pyro the Maniac, aka Courtney Coombs, one of Australia’s best cosplayers. Isn’t this awesome?

Courtney created her own steampunk character named Amelia Harker. So not only did she design an awesome costume, but she came up with a great story to go along with it!
This is my Steampunk costume that I’ve been working on for awhile now. It’s strange that I started sewing bits and pieces of the costume without ever having drawn a design first. But I already had the goggles, the gloves, the top hat, the necklace, fobwatch (not pictured), shirt and the boots.
As I was making the costume I started building up a story for it:
The character is Amelia Harker; she is an explorer of the Australian outback in 1872. She was born to convict parents, but found her wealth during the goldrush. She also has a partner; Flint Dawson (pictures coming soon). A former Union soldier from Indiana who travelled to Australia because of the aformentioned goldrush. But the thing is, they exist in an alternate world where the pleistocene megafauna never went extinct.
Imagine giant marsupials wandering around the vast untamed outback. It sure would make things alot more exciting.

I stumbled onto an interesting steampunk project. A company called Dogtoon Media is working with the steampunk group known as The Wandering Legion of Thomas Tew.
Apparently, this new comedy steampunk webseries will simply be called “The Wandering Legion,” and promises to deliver steampunk adventure and comedy. Sounds good to me!
Here are some behind the scenes photos, courtesy of IndieNate. You can learn more about The Wandering Legion by visiting their (brand new?) website. You can also become a fan on Facebook.
The costumes and gadgets look great. I’m not sure if these guys can top the League of Steam, but either way this looks like a fun steampunk show worth checking out!

Well you learn something new every day….
Apparently there’s a brand of big-eyed fashion dolls in Japan called Pullip that are just HUGE. Now these dolls are getting really big in America as well.
Pullip has debuted a line of steampunk dolls for this year. The clothing and attention to details are quite impressive.
Click Here for more detailed photos and fun background stories of the dolls.
STEAMPUNK Eos Story
Curious of her birth and origin of the world, Eos is looking for the ultimate key for the change in her previous life. She attained her white hair from the mysterious incident in her childhood, but she doesn’t remember anything about it. Her journey and search for answers ignites many new adventures.
The incredible Steampunk World’s Fair took place last weekend in New Jersey, and I wanted to show some photos of all the amazing costumes. I wasn’t able to attend, but I hope I can next year!
I really like this Flickr slideshow tool, it’s very handy. Aren’t the costumes just awesome? Be sure to head over to the Flickr Pool to view all the photos.

Disney’s going steampunk! Check out their Mechanical Kingdom, featuring pins of Disney Characters drawn in steampunk style.
This collection contains five limited edition pins that will be sold individually. There is also a journal written by Professor Ludwig Von Drake that introduces the Mechanical Kingdom story. The journal literally looks like a book complete with a cover and several pages. The final page contains all five individual pins and two “completer pins” — Mickey Mouse and Pirate Pete.
The steampunk pin set will be released in April, 2010.
