Here’s a fun Second Life video to celebrate this joyous day, made by Lokiboy.
Steam Santa visits New Babbage, the virtual steampunk world in Second Life. Watch as Santa flies in on his steam rocket sleigh! This video also shows the wonderful sims in New Babbage, which boasts quite an impressive design and looks like a great place to visit. Well done, Lokiboy!
The Steam Century Mystery is a multifaceted game that combines elements of live action role-playing and crime dramas. Players follow a trail of clues by investigating rooms and interacting with costumed characters. This game is a cross between the How to Host a Murder games and a more traditional Live Action Role Playing Game.
Our mystery events are role playing games in the sense that we, the cast, stay in character. Players are invited to play in character with us at their comfort level. Some of our fans have more concrete steampunk characters they developed so they can “live” in our world with us. We also have players who just play the game to solve the mystery and the puzzles and don’t worry about pretending to be any kind of character.
This sounds like a blast, what a fun group of people.
Here are a few teaser photos of the upcoming event. So be sure to grab your steampunk costume and get ready to solve a mystery!
A new browser-based video game should be released any very soon from Muse Games, called Guns of Icarus.
With tagline, “This is not the future I expected,” the player controls a steampunk airship and shoots down other airships and planes while performing missions. Looks pretty fun!
The video trailer says, “Play it Oct. 12″ but it has not yet been released on Muse’s site, which only states “Coming in October.” So I expect this game to be available at any time.
Here’s an exciting look at the concept art for Disney’s upcoming steampunk Wii game, codenamed Epic Mickey. This looks really dark and gritty, I’m so surprised Disney is behind this. But the artwork is absolutely fabulous, and I’m sure this game will be a huge hit.
No word on a street date yet, but I’ll keep my goggles peeled for any upcoming news.
