Check this very fine and distinguished steampunk Mr. Potato Head! Wow, one of the coolest toy mods I think I’ve ever seen.
This was made by “Sarah” for a craft/design swap. So awesome!
I bought a 10 dollar old-school Mr. Potato Head and used objects found around the house to make Spudnik. Then, I made a capsule/telescope that would hold documents that tell the story of Spudnik and his crucial role in saving the spirit of humanity from apocalyptic doom. I had a lot of fun making this, so I thought I’d share.
I stumbled onto an interesting steampunk project. A company called Dogtoon Media is working with the steampunk group known as The Wandering Legion of Thomas Tew.
Apparently, this new comedy steampunk webseries will simply be called “The Wandering Legion,” and promises to deliver steampunk adventure and comedy. Sounds good to me!
Here are some behind the scenes photos, courtesy of IndieNate. You can learn more about The Wandering Legion by visiting their (brand new?) website. You can also become a fan on Facebook.
The costumes and gadgets look great. I’m not sure if these guys can top the League of Steam, but either way this looks like a fun steampunk show worth checking out!

Wow, what an absolutely amazing steampunk costume! These photos are taken by Josh Reiss, and the costume was made by Mark Becknauld.
Putting the “punk” back in steampunk, indeed.
Mark Becknauldsays that his outfit for the event wasn’t based on any existing characters. Instead, his intention was “keeping the actual punk portion in steampunk.” Becknauld, who reserves his steampunk outfits for special events like San Diego Comic-Con, Bat’s Day and theme parties, made his armband out of brass, leather and copper. It took about two months to complete.
RobotVsBadger.com put together a collection of photos paying tribute to the gorgeous women of the steampunk movement.
Steampunk continues to pick up speed as more and more people catch on to the super sexy sci-fi movement. This post is dedicated to the lovely ladies of the steampunk movement. Some amazing costumes and cool photography. Enjoy!

Someone should make a sexy steampunk calendar, don’t you think?
Here’s an unusual steampunk gadget made by Peter Groenewoud of Hilltree Productions.
He calls this the Doomsday Machine, perhaps aptly named because it’s actually quite dangerous. It’s so dangerous, in fact, that he refuses to explain how it’s made. But apparently it can process sound through lightbulbs, which then gives music a steampunky effect. Interesting!
This is my diy project "steampunk doomsday machine". it is a fuzz /compressor like external effect .But i made it with decent steampunk influences. So with a lot of wood and brass/ copper .At the top you see two 230 volts DC driven lightbulbs . [very dangerous]. Through the burning lightbulbs i send a audio signal . [this trick was contructed with transformers] The 2 brass tubes at the top sides are fatt condensers /elco. And the 2 brass plumbing tubes hold a couple of ldr for the optical compressor. The switches and potentiometers are input/balance, compressor, thru bypass,sence/impedancy,gain/output. I discribe no schematics here on this project, because the whole thing is lethal.
See and hear the Doomsday Machine in action below!
Youtube user NoLoaderWork created this short 3D animation of a steampunk praying mantis.
Heh, I like the tiny gas mask it’s wearing. I wonder if this was for a school project, or just for fun? Either way, it’s very interesting and creative. Well done!
